As this year marks the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the Blitz, Miss Purdie of our History Department decided to commemorate this historic event by having a 1940’s Day on the 5th of November. As can be seen from the pictures, we really got into the Blitz spirit! There were cakes for sale at break and other activities including a quiz. We also invited some of the elderly in the community to join us for a cake and a cup of tea. The money raised went towards Poppy Scotland which helps to look after servicemen and women - and their families - from all British conflicts. Thanks to all those who participated and helped us to raise money for this very worthy cause and a special thanks to Miss Purdie for organising such a successful day.
